Handmade Kid’s Birthday Cards

Making your child a birthday card instead of buying one at the store is a great way to model self-reliance and eco-friendly practices to your child. It’s also a unique gift that he or she will remember for a long time to come. Handmade birthday cards can be tailored to the exact preferences of your child instead of fitting into pre-made categories.

An idea for a handmade child’s birthday card is a “collage” card. You can cut out pictures of your child’s favorite TV characters, comic characters, items (such as cars or dolls), and other appreciated objects and paste them in a colorful burst all over the card. Putting a border on your card that is in multiple colors, like confetti, can also add a lot of fun and excitement to your card. Any shape and any color scheme go, but warm or hot colors will feel more bouncy and funky.

Your card will really feel fantastic if it does something besides sit in one place. Many children love to be surprised. A pop-up card or a cardboard cut-out on a spring may be all it takes to delight your child and truly make your gift one to remember. It’s also possible to put gifts into the card. Money, gift cards, and tickets to a concert are some options. Putting in some handmade slips of paper that allow your child to get out of doing chores for a day or to receive some other privilege, such as two more hours of television than normally allowed, can also be very special and very appreciated.

Spray paint can be used to make cards look interesting. Don’t be afraid to go wild and have fun, as this is also supposed to be an expression of who you are as much as one of who your child is.

Using photos in cards can imbue your card with good memories and nostalgic happiness. You can make a window in the front of the card and allow the photo to show through, or just cut out the photo and put it on the front or on the inside with a border of pasted-on construction paper or stickers. If your child really adores your card, offer to frame it and put it in their room, as then it can last longer and your child can remember the occasion when their mother or father made them a special card for their birthday.

Handmade Mother’s Birthday Card

Handmade Mother’s Birthday Card

Giving your mother a handmade birthday card will add a very special touch to her birthday. Handmade birthday cards feel more personal, are fun and easy to make, and will be treasured for years to come. Here are some ideas for your handmade birthday card for your mom’s birthday.

1. Embed cards with her favorite song or write the lyrics in the card. You can buy little devices that will play music when you open the card, just like store-bought cards.

2. Write a poem and include it in the card for her.

3. Write a few paragraphs on your feelings for her and put it into the card.

4. Fill the card with favorite quotes or inspirational ones.

5. Put a gift in the card, like concert tickets or a dinner reservation to her favorite restaurant. It could even be tickets to a vacation or a holiday destination she loves.

6. Include a family photograph either within the card or on the front of the card. A picture of your mom holding you in her arms will be special and treasured.

7. You don’t have to be a master artist in order to make a handmade birthday card special. Painting, drawing, sketching, and even just cutting out and gluing on pieces of paper to make a collage are things you can do to make your mom’s birthday card beautiful.

8. Warm colors usually feel more happy and joyous than cool colors, but cool colors can feel comforting and relaxing.

9. Don’t be afraid that your ability (or lack thereof) will keep you from making a beautiful birthday card. It doesn’t need to be perfect to be meaningful.

10. Feel free to play around with different ideas before settling on a final idea of what you want your card to look like. An important part of arts and crafts is the planning process wherein you decide what you’re looking to create.

The time to present the birthday card to your mom should be when you are at a private place where you can share the closeness and meaning that your card will bring, or with your immediate family. Also remember that cards can be framed or put into scrapbooks to be kept for future generations to see or just for your mom to look back on when she misses you. Your card and your thoughtfulness will always make her smile.

Answer by johnb693
Yeah, a hand made care would be nice, if you were dating this boy, but as you aren’t, then a Store bought card, would be the better choice.
Yes, all boys, love getting Birthday Cards, who doesn’t.
Just don’t make it all sloppy, as his family and friends will see it as well, and if you get to crushy on it, he may get embarrassed.
So just keep it simple, and wish him a very Happy Birthday.

Making a handmade birthday card

One of the best gifts you can give a loved one on his birthday, is a birthday card. This simple but touching gift is no ordinary piece of paper; rather it encloses all your wishes and emotional expressions. A picturesque birthday card is indeed a joy for the receiver for it is one of the things that he or she would cherish for a long time and perhaps even keep it safe in some personal drawer or decorate it in his living room. Birthday cards create beautiful memories especially when it is handmade by the sender. Handmade birthday cards speak volumes of the care and devotion a person has put into it and leave an amazing impression on your loved one.
Making a handmade birthday card is an enjoyable activity for they allow an individual to explore his own imagination and creativity. Card making is not at all an expensive task for most of the supplies needed for this are present in all homes. If you have kids then chances are that you have a lot of colors and crayons which you can use to decorate and color the paper. Furthermore, simple birthday cards do not require the creator to be an origami expert. All you have to do is fold a sheet of paper and decorate it with whatever you please. You may chose colored paper or beads from broken necklaces and jewelry or you may draw a colorful design or a large birthday cake on the paper and color or paint it with bold, bright shades. One of the easiest ways of making a birthday card is to make use of crayons or pastel shades. If you have a few broken pieces of these colorful wonders that are too difficult to hold and color then here’s an exciting new way to make use of them. All you need is two sheets of card paper, a knife or cutter to chop these pieces into finer ones, and an iron. Use a combination of striking colors and spread these randomly over a card paper. Now place the other piece over it and place a hot iron over the two pieces. This will melt the crayons pieces, beautifully blending the shades and once you separate the two card pieces you will get two colorful and abstract designed birthday cards!  Creating beautiful homemade birthday cards is indeed a rewarding way of making use of the left over things that we tend to throw away. Furthermore, the joy of receiving a handmade birthday card is far greater than that any e-card or ready made ones. Use your imagination and embellish these cards with neatly cut colored paper designs. Or use glue and stick colorful buttons over the cards to give the effect of balloons. You can even make an origami flower and stitch it to the card using a thread and a needle. But make sure that the stitch is small enough not to show and the thread color matches the flower.
Making use of old items and accessories for the collage work on a birthday card is not only creative but the costs are a lot less than actually buying some from the market. Your loved one is sure to prefer the hand made variety that is uniquely distinct and beautiful!
