ok so i am going to be honest…i would only buy the key chain and the phone charm. i am older than you(gonna be a freshman..woot woot!) but that is too much owl stuff for one person to have the sharpener is a little creepy and i am not saying this to be mean but i would just get the usual supplies and not obsess over one common theme get a couple things that people will admire but dont overload

Can Etsy get away with bad management such as deleting shops without notice?

Question by Vintage Shop: Can Etsy get away with bad management such as deleting shops without notice?
I am in Japan and I sold mainly vintage dollhouse items, rare stationery and dolls from the 60s and 70s. I also sold handmade brooches that took me days to make. I woke up one day to see my entire shop deleted from Etsy. This was done without warning and I was sent no emails at all prior to this. I wrote to the admin there but they have not replied. Before this happened I had contacted support about 2 months ago for help, they did not even bother to communicate with me even then. The vintage items I listed applied to their rigid rules (also tagging) that the items had to be older than 20+ years. Moreover, these items were rare and sometimes dead-stock items that are hard to find.
This kind of management is just so disgraceful and reflects so poorly on the image of Etsy.
Just making a engine search on the two words ‘bad’ ‘etsy’ and I found a list of sources that revealed that there were many other users who experienced this sort of treatment before.
I just wonder how their future is going to end up if they continue with these practices.
This experience has left a bad impression on me and I’ll make it known to most of the handmade community in Japan.

You answered this yourself.

First you said and i quote “I also sold handmade brooches that took me days to make.”

A couple of sentences later, and i quote “The vintage items I listed applied to their rigid rules (also tagging) that the items had to be older than 20+ years.”

Need i say more?

Papyrus is an early form of paper made from the pith of the papyrus plant, Cyperus papyrus, a wetland sedge that grows usually 5-9 feet but some have reached to 5 meters (15 ft) in height and was once abundant in the Nile Delta of Egypt. Papyrus is first known to have been used in ancient Egypt (at least as far back as the First dynasty), but it was also widely used throughout the Mediterranean region, as well as inland parts of Europe and south-west Asia

Need a cute/catchy name for a boutique?

Question by Shannon Rowland: Need a cute/catchy name for a boutique?
I need help coming up with a name for my boutique. I will be selling picture frames, stacked wooden crosses (that hang on the wall), coasters, pillowcase dresses, handmade cards, stationery sets, magnets, earring and necklace holders, and many other things. Everything is handmade and/or decorated by me. I just can’t think of anything catchy! I have 2 kids (Luke and Levi) and I can’t decide if I want to incorporate the “L” somehow. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thank you!
Shannon

The end result is a very fine textured paper that is strong, versatile and eco-friendly product–coming from a low/no footprint on our environment, an easily sustainable resource that will last for centuries!

Saving Money When Buying Wedding Stationery

Saving Money When Buying Wedding Stationery

Congratulations you are getting married. Now then, let’s start by making a budget for what you want to spend on your wedding stationery. Keep this budget in mind, and remember it when visiting websites and offline wedding stationery makers.

Deciding what you want early on with your stationery will save you getting overwhelmed and stressed by all the designs later on in the process. A good piece of advice is even though suppliers and stores make a quote/price for wedding stationery; this does not necessarily mean they will honour it.

Like everything centred around your wedding, when deciding what stationery you want for your big day it’s important to remember cost. Like with most things, personalised invites and so forth can end up costing more than flowers, but if it has to be perfect and this is you want then go for it. When looking at stationery I would advise you hit the shops both online and offline as there are some real good bargains out there to be had if you look hard enough.

When buying wedding stationery there are many factors to consider, these include but are not limited to: What is the cost of the stationery? If you go for personalised handmade stationery can it and will it be delivered within time and budget?

If you don’t like what designers have to offer, or you think there prices are too steep then why not consider making your own. Creating and making your own wedding stationery can be fun, especially if you get family and friends involved. Materials can be brought both online and offline, and if you are prepared to do a bit of legwork, in terms of shopping around then there are deals to be had on crafting kits and crafting supplies.

Knowing what wedding stationery you want is the real key to success. I find that deciding what you want early on will help save you time, money and hassle in the long run.

To save even more money on wedding stationery you could get friends and family, involved to help you create beautiful, designer inspired wedding stationery.

If you decide to go down the route of DIY wedding stationery and are still stuck for inspiration and ideas then why not browse websites and print magazines. The wedding stationery business and marketplace is huge, so there are plenty of ideas and designs you can be influenced by.
