Question by layhoma2004: why are handmade leather bags are expensive whereas shouldn’t machine made are more consistent ?
What is the hype in handmade goods such as designer handbags that is ridiculously priced. Shouldn’t machine made products are more better in quality because of consistency ? Is it just a show to put up to jack up the price or is there a real practical reason to justify the means and cost ??

Answer by ‘lil peanut didn’t quite understand the entire quetion but the jist of it. The reason handmade bags are more expesnive than machine made ones is because machines can turn out 100s of bags in the time it takes to make one by hand you have to pay the person making the bag by the hour.

If you have a handmade leather handbag, it may be beautiful now, but just as you would with a leather satchel handbag, you will need to take proper care of it if you want it to stay looking pristine and last you for years to come. There are a few basic care and maintenance tips in particular that you are going to want to be aware of and which will help you take the best care of your handmade leather handbag. Leather Before you can really understand about handmade leather handbag care tips, you are going to need to be a bit more educated on the leather material itself. Leather is known for its durability and can last a lifetime if it is properly taken care of. It is going to be necessary for you to maintain the beauty and other desired qualities of leather, and a proper care of leather makes it protected from excessive dryness and will also prevent it from moisture that may result in causing it to swell or mildew. Care and Maintenance One of the most important things you can do to take care of your handmade leather handbag is keep it stored in the right type of environment. When you are not using it, you want to keep the handbag in a dry area, away from dust, dirt and moisture. Leather bags should never be stored in plastic bags or other nonporous covers as this encourages the growth of mold. If you happen to get a blood or food stain on your bag, you will want to deal with it immediately to keep it from staining permanently. These can be cleaned up with a damp cloth and this will usually be enough, but if not you will want to try a natural or organic bag cleaning product. Oil and grease stains can be cleaned by grinding up ordinary blackboard chalk and sprinkling on the bag, then leaving on for a twenty-four hour period before wipping off. A dampened cheesecloth and a leather conditioning cream should be used thrice or four times a year and this will facilitate the durability and shine of the bag. Your handmade leather handbag will last you a lifetime if you follow these helpful steps and remember that these are just the basic steps to keep in mind, there are many others that you can use to your advantage and to help you take proper care of your bag. http://latest-handbags.blogspot.com
